Let us now take a look back at the journey of I-PEX Philippines Inc. over the past three decades.
The 30-Year Journey of I-PEX Philippines Inc.
I-PEX Group established its first presence in the Philippines in 1988 with Philippine D-I Inc. in Las Piñas, a city in Metro Manila. The facility was launched to manufacture automobile interior components, primarily ventilation outlets. The Philippines was the second destination country for I-PEX after Singapore.
Operations began by transferring pilot production lines from Japan, and training programs were conducted locally and in Japan to ensure quality and technology transfer.

In the late 1990s, the area surrounding the original plant underwent redevelopment into residential zones, prompting the relocation of operations. I-PEX Group constructed a new plant in the industrial zone of Santa Rosa, Laguna—a growing industrial hub—and reestablished operations in 1994 under the name Laguna Dai-ichi, Inc. This entity is now known as I-PEX Philippines Inc.
Since then, I-PEX Philippines Inc. has rapidly expanded its production capabilities. Based on the Global Optimal Location Production Strategy of the I-PEX Group, the company has handled the molding and assembly of automotive components and precision parts for hard disk drives (HDDs). In addition to manufacturing, the company has made continuous improvements in quality and production processes, earning the trust of customers across Japan, Asia, and North America.

In 2024, the company completed its third building equipped with solar panels, marking the start of a new project phase.
Through these three decades of steady growth, I-PEX Philippines Inc. has now reached a significant milestone—its 30th anniversary.
Looking ahead, I-PEX Philippines Inc., guided by its vision to be “the most innovative and sharpest presence,” will continue to evolve over the next 10 and 20 years with its technology, people, and teamwork.
- *I-PEX Inc. changed its name from Dai-ichi Seiko Co., Ltd. in 2020. Accordingly, each group company also changed its name.
