Hands-on Safety WorkshopAt I-PEX, we hosted an experiential safety training program aimed at enhancing employees’ awareness of workplace safety. The program combined a lecture to understand safety conditions with practical exercises that allowed participants to experience how to respond to hazards, fostering deeper learning.
At I-PEX, safety is more than a protocol—it's a core value that shapes how we work, collaborate and care for one another.
We recognize that work-related illnesses and injuries can highly impact the life of our employees and their family. This is why we are committed to building a culture of safety where everyone can work confidently, take on challenges, and grow.

From Learning to Living Safety: Hands-On Training in Action
On April 24, 2025, we invited an external safety consultant to I-PEX Campus for a half-day safety training session.
More than 100 employees participated, including online attendees. All participants first joined a classroom session, and about 60 on-site attendees also too part in hands-on training. By combining theory with practical experience, the program aimed to deepen understanding and embed safety measures in daily operations.
Building Safety Awareness Through Theory
Health and Safety Training Session (I-PEX Campus)The day began with a 40-minute lecture delivered by an external instructor, covering key safety topics such as:
- How to identify hazards
- The importance of communication
- Ergonomics in the workplace
The session included official data, case studies from other companies, and the instructor’s own experiences, helping participants gain a deeper understanding of workplace safety. Interactive elements such as trivia quizzes and Q&A sessions encouraged active engagement and discussion.
Participant feedback:
I always try to act safely and avoid accidents, but I realized that my perspective was mostly limited to myself. Safety isn’t just about me—it’s about everyone.(…) I want to take every opportunity, even small ones, to implement measures and expand safety awareness.
The core message of the session was clear: Safety is everyone’s responsibility.
For leaders in particular, the importance of communication in promoting safety awareness was emphasized. The session also highlighted that preventing one of the main causes of workplace accidents—human error—requires a constant commitment to safety.
Experiencing Hazards Through Practical Training
To put theory into practice, participants engaged in safety simulations based on real risks identified during a prior site inspection. The instructor tailored the content to reflect actual hazards within the facility, making the training highly practical.
Participants rotated through four experiential stations:
- Static electricity hazard simulation
- Trip and fall prevention
- Ladder and step stool hazard simulation
- Rotating machinery entanglement hazard simulation
Stepladder and Step Stool Hazard Simulation
Trip and Fall Prevention ExerciceBy physically experiencing these risks, employees gained a stronger sense of danger and a deeper understanding of how to prevent accidents. The goal was to counteract complacency and overconfidence that can develop in routine work.
After the exercises, a feedback session with the instructor allowed participants to share insights and lessons learned, reinforcing continuous improvement in safety awareness.
Participants feedback:
This training reminded me how many hazards exist in the workplace. Reducing unsafe conditions and behaviors is essential. As we get used to our work, we tend to overlook risks, so regular training is necessary.
Experiencing hazards firsthand made me realize the importance of staying alert.
Sharing Knowledge and Looking Ahead
Workplace accidents are on the rise in Japan*, and companies have a legal obligation to protect employee safety. At I-PEX, we take this responsibility seriously by conducting regular safety patrols and internal training, as well as hosting seminars and experiential events with external experts to strengthen on-site safety measures.
Members of the Safety and Health Committee also participated in this training, gaining valuable insights for future safety patrols. Training materials and participant feedback are shared on the company intranet to raise safety awareness across the organization.
I-PEX will continue striving to create a safe working environment for every employee, with the ultimate goal of achieving zero workplace accidents.
