Dai-ichi Seiko's Electrostatic Capacitance Torque Sensor (ESTORQ) won the Machine Parts Award at the 2015 "CHO" Monodzukuri Innovative Parts and Components Award sponsored by MONODZUKURI.nippon.conference and Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun Ltd., Japan's leading business and industry newspaper publisher.

Details
"ESTORQ" is a sensor to detect and control torque for rotational motion generated by the operation of various kinds of robots and automated assembly machines. This sensor was awarded the prize because of the adoption of the world's first Electrostatic Capacitance method.
