I-PEX Inc. (Headquarters: Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture, Representative Director: Takaharu Tsuchiyama, Tokyo Stock Exchange Prime Market Code: 6640, hereinafter I-PEX) is offering a new product, the “IARPB® (Vertical Type)” in the series of board-in connectors that are ideal for automotive headlamps in July 2024. The IARPB® (Vertical Type) is one of the four new connectors and terminals products for automobiles that were announced in May 2024*. 2 pins, 4 pins and 7 pins are currently for sale, but we plan to expand the lineup of pin numbers in 2024.

Features of the IARPB® (Vertical Type)

The IARPB® series is a board-in connector that exhibits high-vibration resistance due to the positioning boss on the housing. The housing structure, which offers excellent visibility of mounted terminals, enhances the efficiency in solder mounting process. Additionally, tin-plating the entire perimeter of the terminals shows stable solderability.

Recently, headlamps are equipped with other functions such as ADB* and are expected to save space. In addition to the features of the IARPB® series, the IARPB® (Vertical Type) improves space efficiency and flexibility in circuit board design by routing the wire harness vertically on the board, and contributes to further weight reduction and downsizing of customer products.

  • Abbreviation for Adaptive Driving Beam. A mechanism to control the headlamp light pattern to avoid glare for oncoming vehicles and pedestrians.
