Storage battery system production location to be established in Onojo City, Fukuoka PrefectureBackground and aims of establishing a battery storage system production location
I-PEX entered the environmental and energy solutions business (currently Energy Solutions Business) in February 2024 and began developing and selling the storage battery system RENERATH. In July of the same year, it joined the Green EV Battery Network Fukuoka (hereinafter referred to as GBNet Fukuoka)*.
As the core location for I-PEX's battery storage system, this facility will handle a series of processes for used EV batteries, from battery pack dismantling, module inspection, and storage battery assembly, and will manufacture the RENERATH battery storage system. In addition, through activities at this location, we will contribute to the realization of a decarbonized, resource-circulating society by promoting resource circulation of used EV batteries, mainly in Fukuoka Prefecture, through GBNet Fukuoka.
- *The “Fukuoka Model” aims to be the first resource circulation system in Japan to cover a series of processes including collection, reuse, recycling and re-manufacturing of used EV batteries which are expected to increase rapidly in the future.
